Bracing for the Fall

The Fall Back, that is.

For months and months, I have been dreading the evil implications of the time change this weekend.

I have heard numerous horror stories about baby schedules going awry and even toddlers reverting to infant-like night time wakes.

So I dreeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaad this weekend.

And next week.

And the week after.

And ever how long it takes to make this guy get the hang of the new thang.

Please don't go doling out advice about how I should have been backing up his bedtime and waketimes for weeks now to avoid the impending fallout.  I have read every single one of Babywise Mom's posts on time change and her plan won't help me.  To back up the little guys bedtime/wake time by an hour would make me more than late to work.  I have tried backing up the bedtime alone, but that does little good without enforcing wake time....

So yeah....

I guess there is always a chance that it won't phase him and he will just revert to it easily.

But if not, please pardon me if I seem like one hot mess.

You can blame the time change.

I know I will be.

The Hungry Girl Goes First

Last night, I went to dinner with my in-laws.

And because of the ridiculous, crazy, whirlwind week that I have had at work this week, I had barely eaten anything all day long.

So I pretty much gorged at dinner.

As in, I had 2 bowls of salad (with low fat, Asian dressing), a bowl of pasta, a slice of french bread, Little Man's crust from his french bread.

As if that wasn't enough, when I got home, I dug out the spaghetti that I made on Wednesday and had a couple giant bites of that along with some of the left-over chili from Thursday.

I may or may not have thrown it all back with a piece of Halloween candy that I still haven't managed to get rid of....

And this morning, I couldn't drag my butt out of bed early enough to get a full workout in, so it was just a half for me today.

All that to say, instead of my scale being kind to me instead I am up 2/10 of a lb. from last week, at 155.

To be honest, I am proud it isn't higher, considering the sugar in my house right now....

I really have to be good this weekend and next week if I want to see results before weigh in day.  My goal is at least 3 lbs.  And I am thinking that if I stick to my workouts this weekend and eat reasonably this weekend, I should be that much closer.

In other news, be kind on me.  It's been an extremely rough week over here.  I am tired, I am cranky, and I am (obviously) hungry.

Hopefully, I will have some blog time this weekend and I will finally post about Little Man's first Halloween!

Hugs!

My Honest Opinion: Dealcatcher.com

Be thankful, very thankful.

I was thisclose to doling out my honest opinion about yet another hair removal product.

But since I have lost enough readers to my hair removal woes, I thought it was probably time to move on.  At least long enough for you to forget this.  Or this.

As a means of diversion, I want to talk about $MONEY$.

Or yet another means of saving you money.

Do you shop online?

Like EVER?

Evah, evah?

Sorry, Miss Jackson...

So sorry about that.

It just takes over when I'm least expecting it.

Anyway, do you ever shop online?

I do.

Like all.the.time.

Because I hate going shopping with PEOPLE.

And crowds.

And parking at the back of the parking lot.

Unless it's at Wal-mart, where I go in anticipation of seeing one of these, who apparently roam the aisles on a regular basis:

(Credit for these pics go directly to the People of Wal-Mart Emails that I get every month)

And that would just MAKE MY DAY!!!!

But back to what I was saying,

I love to shop online.

And I love websites that help me shop online.

Dealcatcher.com is one of those.

They post amazing deals every.single.day.

I would be lying if I said that I don't check their site multiple times per week.

(Don't tell Techy, but I have gotten some AMAZING deals from Dealcatcher.com....)

But the real reason for my post is that they have something this year that I am so excited about, I could croak!

This week, I found out from their Facebook page, that their TGI Black Friday site has actually released an app that I can use on BLACK FRIDAY!

Have I mentioned how much I love BLACK FRIDAY!?!?!!?!

Or the fact that I happen to know that it is only 22 days away?

Or the fact that I am already recruiting for babysitters?

Sorry, Miss Jackson!

Back on topic....

So, being the frugalista that I am, I downloaded the app and played around with it.

And do you know, if you have an iPhone, an iPod, or an iPad, you can use it to make your Black Friday shopping lists?

Oh be still, my giddy little heart!

Here's where I warn you that if you see me with my iPad in hand, desperately checking boxes and marking items, you probably shouldn't disturb the serious business that is going on.

In the meantime, take a minute or two to check out the deals that Dealcatcher.com is posting today, tomorrow, and every day.  That way when you hear that I got something for $.69 with free shipping, you can reply with, "Me TOO!!!"

*Note: Can you believe that I am not getting any compensation for posting my amazing opinions?  Not one single one.  Although, I will say that since Techy knows some of the guys at Dealcatcher.com, I may have received an occasional free tee shirt or coupons from them.  But that was long before this post and has done absolutely NOTHING to sway my opinion.  I really just like their site, and I really use it all the time, and I really recommend it to all my friends.  You can thank me later.

Sneak Peek: Clevershots

Pretty sure you have heard the news about Techy's NEW hobby/business....

If not, head on over to his website and take a gander.

Maybe even let your fingers do the walking and "Like" him on Facebook.

In the meantime, take a look at these adorable kiddo's that he shot this weekend.

The Beat Goes On

I don't know about you, but this week just keeps getting busier for me.

It's all good stuff.

But it isn't the BEST stuff.

Do you know what I mean?

Things like meeting here, doctor appointment there, workout ALL OVER THE PLACE, dinner time here, time with the in-laws, etc., etc., etc.

It's only Wednesday, and I am just beat!

The sad part is that the 2nd half of my week is about 500 times more busy than the first half .

Techy has been busy all week editing photos from his photo shoot this weekend...

I have been busy just trying to push in at least an hour workout every day.

Little Man is going through the Terrible 10 months....  Seriously.  Why does no one tell you about THIS phase?  I mean, you hear ALL ABOUT the terrible 2's, but terrible 10 months came out of nowhere!  He's a teething, cruising-almost-walking, independent-clingy, want-to-feed-myself-with-a-fork MESS!  Someone actually called him "spoiled" this morning.  I almost cried.  This mommy business makes me feel more like a failure every single day.

But I am reminded of something...

Actually, I was reminded on Sunday of something incredibly special....

Our Pastor preached on Sunday from 2 Cor. 12

Specifically on this verse:

9 And He said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.

And then today, my friend Bethany, who just moved to Nicaragua with her family, posted this post.

Watching Little Man develop the way I have over the last few months, the thought that Jesus had to learn to crawl becomes even that much more special to me.  It's so comforting to know that no matter how weak I am, He is strong.  And he understands.

Now, I just have to figure out a way to put away my pride and my OCD nature and "boast in my infirmities".

Helpful How-To: Reverse! Reverse!

Despite what you are thinking, this is not a tutorial in how to do the Cha-Cha Slide.

Although, we all know how amazing I am at dancing...(Techy is emphatically shaking head from left to right and mouthing "NO"....  I say, "Pay no attention to the man behind the curtain!" or behind me or whatever....)

No, this is actually just a switcheroo in the ole schedule.

This week, instead of posting my boring normal Helpful How-To Post, I am reversing it.

Anyone out there have a really great tutorial or something that clearly you are the only one who knows how to do properly?

Anything?

Maybe like remove a red hot from a toddler's nose or change a tire or, for those nurses out there, remove a knife from someone's cheek?

Otherwise, you will be getting a tutorial on how to put down the toilet seat, empty the dishwasher, or change a dirty diaper as I am becoming more proficient on a daily basis at doing these things.

Hoping to hear from you!

Shocking News

Not sure if you've heard or not, but I am perhaps the slowest runner in the history of running.

Since I am meeting my friend Debber for lunch tomorrow, and tomorrow was previously scheduled to be my mid-week run, I rescheduled to today.

And I went home, armed with my Britney Spears that I just downloaded from Amazon for a song thanks to Frugal Girls, prepped to run.

And run I did.  I even added in a few loops that I don't normallly hit.

And headed home.

To discover that my time was dun, dun, dun...L-A-M-E, LAME!

As in 11.5 minute miles.

As in I probably could have walked faster.

(or not, but still, very slow...)

Sure, I'm glad to have gotten it in, but really, was I THAT slow?

And distance?

Only 2.38 and my knees were tired.  Not sore - TIRED.

Perhaps this is what happens when I don't allow as many days between runs as I have been.

Either way, this is puny considering all my girls just finished 13.2.

I gotta find a better way to push myself.

For now, I am blaming it on Britney.

She may be "Stronger than yesterday", but she isn't fast enough to speed me up.  I need some Ke$ha pushing me.

Next run = Pandora or bust.
