It's been a long time coming, people.
But this morning, magic happened on the scale and I hit the 130's.
FINALLY.
That's down 1.2 from last week.
I think I high kicked for about 2 minutes straight while singing Mariah Carey's Hero this morning.
Not really sure.
It's still kinda a blur.
But trust me when I say it's a happy blur.
And yes. That's still 2 lbs. away from pre-prego weight.
But who cares!
Back to high kicking ya'll!

You're Welcome
Check it out, peeps....
That's 5 days of glorious 40+ degree weather....
And you can all say a big thank you to me....
Because I just got new boots....
Ensuring that I will not have a need for them this year.
Rather than dwelling on that sad fact, let's focus on the fact that it looks like the weather will be decent for my weekend run!
But of course, it will be windy....
At this point, would I want it any other way?

Helpful How-To: Finding Motivation
You guys can all say a thank you to loyal reader, Kait, who asks, "how do you find the motivation to work out? cuzzz going home and eating handfuls of cookies sounds way more appealing to me right now".
Um, first of all, Thankyouverymuchkait. Now I want cookies too.
And I totally blame you.
Most especially for planting that sinful notion of Subway's new strawberry cheesecake cookie.
And now we are all in a love-hate relationship with Kait.
Moving on...as quickly as possible...
Have I ever mentioned how much I LOVE cheesecake?
And how I love to break my own rules?
Especially those about not eating cookies on a school night?
Or even better, the new one I just made up about not buying cookies from Subway.
Just so I could break it.
That's right.
The Rulebreaker's back at it!
Are you convinced yet?
No?
Ok, well, back to the question....
Motivation....
At the end of a long day....
When cookies are right there....
Well, my friends, I submit to you Exhibit A.
The itsy bitsy, teeny weeny, polka dot bikini.
For the record, I WILL NOT be sporting a bikini this year, due to the fact that I have enough stretchy skin on my stomach to create my own pouch and rent out the space to the nearest Joey....
Just saying.
However, Summer time is coming....
And my in-laws just got one of these....
Meaning that my husband will soon be sprouting gills and fins....
And I will be spending alot of time in my bathing suit.
Therefore, I will be working out tonight.
Hello, motivation!
Now on to Exhibit B....
Stop looking at me like I have 16 heads and 2 toes.
Yes. That's a portable dvd player.
And yes, it's a motivation tactic.
Or rather, a means to doing something you hate while doing something you love.
I love to spend time with my hubby during the evenings, watching tv and the like.
And I may have been known to squeeze in a workout or two while doing so.
By using a handy dandy portable dvd player.
It's surprisingly simple to follow the sequence of a workout on a portable dvd player even with no sound, if you are already familiar with it.
Allowing you to do your workout and watch tv or random Flashmobs on YouTube with your lover to your hearts content.
Who's ready to workout?!
Still no?
Fine.
On to Exhibit C....
Get a partner.
Studies show that people who workout together stick with it longer.
Case in point, remember me talking about someone getting into the 120's this week?
Chances are, I am going to pick up my pace a little bit and push myself a little bit harder to help narrow that gap.
To think of it another way, my friend, Kait goes to Zumba every week.
She has buddies in Zumba.
And if she isn't gonna be in class, she knows she's gonna hear about it.
I know it's silly, but it's motivation people!
And motivation is what we're all about, right?!
Or not.
Whatever.
Now on to my favorite!
Exhibit 4.
Did I mention it was my fave?
SLEEP.
I know that if I workout tonight, I will sleep better tonight.
And then my morning will be just that much easier.
And I am all about making my mornings easy.
Can I get an Amen?!
Seriously, though, studies show that regular exercise is linked to more restful sleep.
Now for those of you who are asking, "Leah, will this help keep me from spending all my vending machine money on 5 hour energy just to keep my eyes open through that 2 o'clock slump?"
My answer is, "Maybe!", "Can't hurt!" and "Can I borrow some of your vending machine money? I really want a Subway cookie...."
And that should be good enough for you.
Just because I said so!
Also, I really could use $1.25 for a cookie....
No?
Awright, fine....

When Size Matters
Today is February 16.
Seriously, people.
Already 6 weeks into the new year.
According to my weightloss goals, I should already be to my pre-pregnancy weight and then some.
Interesting.
Obviously, I am not.
Still stuck at that 140 mark.
With less than 2 weeks until March 1, it doesn't look like I am going to be reaching my weight loss goal.
And I am bummed.
Especially after seeing someone (not to mention any names, Kaci) post something about sliding into the 120's.
Um furreal?!
Let's talk depression...and anxiety...and total green-eyed jealousy.... (Love you, Kaci...)
Yes, hello Depths of Despair...I'm back for another visit.
It wasn't a long visit, however, since I did something this weekend that I haven't done in almost 2 years.
It may or may not have had something to do with a size 6.
Not one day but 2....
(For the record, I was in an 8-10 before getting pregnant.)
Um, hello, Old Friend.
Size 6 and I haven't been in touch in a long, long time.
And then there was a jegging incident....
Where I tried them on and fell in love and then wore them to church UNDER a dress....
And then wore them around all afternoon with a long shirt - no dress required....
And decided that we were BFF's never to be parted again.
True story.
Here's hoping she feels the same about me....
Not that she has much of a choice.
My point?
Size DOES matter.
Especially, when I am stuck at 140.
Size 6 definitely softens the blow....
That's my story and I'm stickin' to it!

I'd Rob Cupid Blind
I am seriously the cheapest valentiner ever!
As in, I would DIE if I got a dozen roses for the big day.
Because I know how much they cost.
Oh.dear.heavens.
We went out one time on Valentines Day with our friends right after we were married and spent $100 on a delicious meal of the tiniest food I have ever eaten.
I litrally (said in my best Chris from Parks and Rec voice) went home and ate a box of Oreos just to keep my stomach from growling in the middle of the night.
Our first Valentines Day together, Techy bought me a gorgeous diamond heart shape pendant on a chain.
And I could have died because he should have been using that money to help pay off school bills.
To say that I am frugal is a little of an understatement.
To say that I am a party pooper is really more like it.
I'm more or less like a transplant from the Great Depression.
Don't spend money on that - I could make it or find it cheaper!
Um, hello, Ridiculousness? Leah's on the line...AGAIN....
It's not that I don't enjoy gifts that someone had to spend money on...
It's just that I could have done so much more with the money.... Or I could have gotten something on sale. Or used a coupon code....
Yes. It's a sickness.
But, I am here to tell you that after all these years, my Techy knows me so well.
And this years gift fit the bill without breaking any bank.
And just so happened to have been on my wish list.
And I am one lucky girl.
That's all.

Valentine Fail
Remember that craft party I hosted about a month ago at my house?
Wherein one of the attendees made adorable valentines for her kiddo?
See?
It's this one, right there....
You can actually see the sharpie in her hands as she's writing cute sayings on each card.
Um, yeah.
I totally should have been paying more attention.
Of course, I think I may have even said these famous last words that day..."Well, since Little Man doesn't have anyone to give valentines to..."
Ah, yes.
Famous last words.
Because then Little Man joined the big boy school....
And gained a class full of kiddos.
I guess it should have occurred to me when they sent the note home last week about decorating cookies for their Valentine's day party.
But of course it didn't.
And then on Sunday afternoon when I sent Techy to Wal-Mart and only mentioned something about valentines.... Like that would ever work....
So yes, at 7 am yesterday morning, I was THAT mom. Walking around Wal-Mart combing every last aisle for 1 box of valentines.
And then I saw HER.
She was THAT mom too.
And SHE was carrying the LAST BOX of valentines that she had whisked from Wal-Mart's shelves.
Leaving me to get creative.
And that's why for Little Man's first Valentine exchange, he gave out note cards with apples on them.
That mommy had written U R SWEET on.
And then adhered puffy valentine stickers to while running out the door to work.
Yes. PUFFY STICKERS.
Don't worry, I saved a sheet for myself.
But at least my kid got to give out Valentines.
It's the thought that counts right?
Not whether or not they had Buzz Lightyear on them.
Or at least that's what I am telling myself.
I mean really, all this pressure....
And he's only 1.
Can you imagine what I'll be like when it really counts?!

Love is a Gamble...
Lucky for me, I won.
But I am a little more composed than some people at showing it....
This is dedicated to you, Techy!
Happy Valentines Weekend, ya'll!
